Because of the many considerations involved in installing a new church heating system, we thought it would be useful to have photographs of the most commonly used equipment readily available online.
Please call us on 01706 522 702 or e-mail: info@dunphychurchheating.co.uk if you require any further information, or have particular questions about any of our church heating equipment.
Boilers
The boilers here are some of the most frequently used in our church heating installations. Requirements vary from church to church, and boiler selection is often determined by the fluing conditions in the church concerned, particularly in Victorian Churches and Medieval Churches. All our equipment is made by leading manufacturers, carefully selected with the prime purpose of church heating in mind, and fully compliant with all current British and European regulations.
The Paramount Condensing Boiler is a wall hung condensing boiler. Advanced heat exchange design of alumnium and silicon provides exceptional energy efficiency (up to 109%net), as well as ultra low NOx performance, exceeding class 5, making the boiler extremely environmentally friendly. The range comes in three outputs with flexible fluing options including balanced flue, room sealed and conventional.
The FF range of gas fired boilers are wall mounted, cast iron boilers, usually fitted in multiples in churches where space is at a premium. The output of each unit varies, but we typically select these where the church heating requirements range between 28kw and 140kw (100,000 and 460,000BThU). Dia 832h x450w x 300d
The Atmospheric Boiler type CX is cast iron sectional in construction. The heat exchanger is designed for low NOx emissions. We use this boiler where access to the existing boiler house is poor as the boiler can easily be dismantled and reassembled by our engineers. The boiler comes with a choice of permanent pilot or electronic ignition and can be used either as a single unit or in multiples.
The Power range of boilers can be either oil or gas fired but are usually installed on gas systems.. They are a cast iron sectional boiler, floor mounted and using a conventional flue. Boiler size and range vary. Outputs from 101-267kw (345,000-911,000 BThUs) - for the larger church.
Radiators
Our range of radiators are purpose manufactured to our specifications for church heating. Radiators are usually triple panelled, triple finned and are robust in construction.
The Minster G33 range of radiator is our most cost effective radiator. Its rugged good looks and high quality build from 1.25mm steel make it attractive and robust and eminently suitable in a wide variety of church building environments. The radiator has welded side panels and a top grilled diffuser. Standard heights are usually 600m. Lengths up to 2000mm, but if required in particular church buildings, radiators can come in 3000mm length.
The Minster Lowline is a radiator designed to fit under church pews. Its low height of either 200mm or 300mm, makes for a discreet and effective church heating installation where wall space is at a premium.
The Doric is a classic sectional columned radiator made from pressed steel. The radiator can be either free standing or wall mounted. Comes in various sizes. Suitable for many church heating requirements.
The Fanflare is a fan assisted convector heater. Cabinet sizes come at 600mm high, with widths up to 1500mm. The fan speeds are variable and have many control options. The standard colour is a neutral beige. Carefully installed to make it virtually silent in operation, making it a viable church heating option in most church building locations.
The Minirad is again designed to fit under pews but has the added benefit of being a low surface temperature emitter. Usually fitted in 2000mm lengths.
The Maxirad is a dedicated low surface temperature radiator with a height of up to 700mm. Most suitable for church halls and where infants and the infirm are present.
Controls
All our church heating installations and equipment are controlled by our dedicated 'Churchwarden' control system. It goes without saying that this unit has been developed specifically for church building heating sysyems and is derived from our many years of experience with church heating in a wide variety of churches and religious building environments.
The unit is an optimising controller working on the internal church temperature alone. The unit has four ons/offs per day on each of the seven days. You need only enter the times of occupancy - and the controller will calculate the best time to switch the boiler on. We have an information leaflet on this system, available on request.
The Churchwarden 1365 allows each week to be programmed individually and is especially helpful in controlling church heating where churches and church buildings have irregular schedules of congregation member meetings or events and church services.
